Habitact Academy — a Moon-base mission for students

Learn the Moon Base by Building It

Habitact Academy turns the LunarACT Moon base into a hands-on mission. Players progress from a rocket on the pad to a crew operating the base, learning real engineering along the way. It runs in the browser with no accounts, no ads, and no logins — progress is stored locally on the device.

Five Stages, Pad to Base

Eighteen lessons take players from launch to living on the Moon.

1

Rocket Lab

Design a rocket that passes the rocket equation within a budget.

2

Flight Plan

Choose one of five US launch sites and a path, then time the burn that leaves Earth.

3

Landing

Fly the descent manually or on autopilot — no air, and the Sun near the horizon.

4

Moon Base

Assemble a habitat on NASA terrain under a 42-tonne limit.

5

Base Operations

Keep four crew alive for 30 days and build a landing pad from moon dirt.

Two Levels

Lessons come in Explorer (grades 5–8) and Engineer (grades 9–12) versions, so the same mission fits different classrooms.

Teacher Hub

5E unit plans, a four-week pacing guide, and activities covering 25 NGSS performance expectations — ready to run in class.
